Application to sit the theory exams to obtain a pilot or parachuting licence

To receive a pilot or parachuting licence, the applicant must register for theory exams with the Directorate of Civil Aviation (Direction de l'Aviation Civile – DCA).
Who is concerned
Any individual who meets all of the prerequisites may sit a theory exam for:
- the light aircraft pilot licence (LAPL);
- the private pilot licence (PPL);
- the balloon pilot licence (BPL);
- the sailplane pilot licence (SPL);
- the instrument rating (IR);
- the commercial pilot licence (CPL);
- the airline transport pilot licence (ATPL);
- the powered ultralight aircraft (ULM) pilot licence or parachuting licence.
Prerequisites
To register for a theory exam, the applicant must have:
- completed the relevant theoretical training programme; and
- received a recommendation from the accredited training organisation responsible for their training.
Deadlines
The DAC must receive the registration form for the theory exam by email or post at least 10 days before the exam session.
Costs
Registration is subject to a fee. Payment must be made by wire transfer to the bank account of ALSA S.A., and the transfer must mention the appropriate reference information as listed in the table below.
