Fit 4 AI programme

Last update

Summary:

Fit 4 AI is a programme aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that aims to support them in exploring and adopting solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Fit 4 AI is a support and co-financing programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), managed by Luxinnovation with the support of the Ministry of the Economy. Its objective is to support companies in the exploration and adoption of solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis.

The programme is aimed at companies that wish to:

  • leverage their data in order to improve their decision-making;
  • increase their productivity (for example through process automation);
  • develop new products or services; or
  • adopt a new economic model.

In practice, Fit 4 AI allows companies to get help from an expert, specifically selected for their expertise, to carry out an analysis of the opportunities and internal capacities for integrating AI solutions. This analysis is supplemented by a detailed and budgeted action plan, which the company is free to implement or not.

The production of this analysis is financially supported by state aid, and granted in the form of a capital subsidy by the Ministry of the Economy.

Eligible costs

Only the costs for the analysis conducted by the expert consultant(s) are eligible. Luxinnovation will ensure that the quote(s) provided by the consultant(s) are compliant with the objectives of the programme.

Prerequisites

Companies must fulfil the general terms and conditions applicable to all aid measures for SMEs.

To be able to apply for a subsidy, you must have a business eSpace on MyGuichet.lu.

How to create a business eSpace on MyGuichet.lu

There are 2 possible scenarios:

  1. You are a new user of MyGuichet.lu. You must:

    • then create a business eSpace.
  2. You already have a private eSpace on MyGuichet.lu. You can directly create a business eSpace without having to register again.

Further information as well as tutorials in relation with the business eSpace are available in our dedicated help page.

How to proceed

Procedure

As part of the Fit 4 AI programme, the company selects a consultant who carries out an in-depth analysis of the company's potential for implementing AI solutions. This assignment, with a maximum duration of 6 months, will result in a structured report including:

  • an analysis of the current situation (strategy, digital maturity and availability of data);
  • a sectoral assessment (if necessary) and the identification of relevant use cases;
  • an analysis of the technologies, regulatory compliance (GDPR, AI Act), cost, ROI and risks;
  • a detailed roadmap for implementation (timetable, human and material resources).

The company is free to follow all or part of the recommendations. Luxinnovation then assists, if necessary, with:

  • the implementation of the action plan;
  • the identification of sources of financing; or
  • referrals to appropriate training courses, partners or support programmes.

Filing an application

If your company is interested in participating in the Fit 4 AI programme, you should contact Luxinnovation's Company Performance Programmes department, which will put you in touch with approved consultants.

Once you have obtained a quote from an approved consultant, you must submit it to Luxinnovation by registering it on its dedicated platform.

After ensuring that the quote complies with the programme and that your company is eligible, Luxinnovation will send you a certificate which must be attached, with the unsigned quote, to the subsidy application.

You must submit the subsidy application via your business eSpace on MyGuichet.lu.

This procedure requires authentication using:

Please note: you must submit the application before the start of the analysis, i.e. before the order becomes legally binding (signature of the quote or payment of a deposit).

Amount of aid

The amount of aid will be calculated on the basis of the eligible costs for the analysis and cannot exceed 50% of eligible costs.

To obtain co-funding, the eligible costs selected must fall within the following limits:

  • for a small business: between EUR 10,000 and 50,000 excluding VAT;
  • for a medium-sized business: between EUR 10,000 and 100,000 excluding VAT;

Payment of the aid

The aid will be paid at the end of the diagnostic phase.

You must submit the following documents with the payment request procedure:

  • the invoice(s) of the consultant(s);
  • proof(s) of payment;
  • the full diagnostic (assessment).
