Authenticating with an eIDAS device
Last update
To enable cross-border authentication for access to online public services, electronic identification resources for electronic transactions (eIDAS - Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services) have been established at European Union (EU) level.
The aim is to enable EU citizens and businesses to carry out administrative procedures online in any other European country using the authentication system recognised in their own country.
In Luxembourg, electronic means of identification from many other EU and European Economic Area (EEA) member countries can be used to authenticate to MyGuichet.lu, in addition to LuxTrust products and the Luxembourg electronic identity card (eID).

How to proceed
Application for a Luxembourg national identification number
To be able to use your country's eIDAS means of identification for MyGuichet.lu, you need a 13-digit Luxembourg national identification number (matricule). If you do not have such a number, there is an eIDAS registration procedure which allows you to apply for one online:
With this number, you are registered in the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPP), which then allows you to use MyGuichet.lu.
The RNPP houses all data relating to the identification of natural persons (whether resident or not) in contact with Luxembourg's public administrations and bodies.
When you apply for a Luxembourg national identification number by authenticating yourself with your eIDAS means of identification, your associated personal identification data will be recorded in the RNPP.
You can also check the validity of your eIDAS means of identification and the associated personal identification data online:
