Summary:

As an employer of staff that is taking part in vocational training, you may be entitled to financial compensation for hours of training taken by said staff during working hours.

All employees are entitled to take training courses as part of their professional activity.

Employers may receive financial compensation for vocational training undertaken by their employees, subject to certain conditions.

Who is concerned

You are eligible for this financial compensation if:

  • your business, organisation or foundation is legally established in Luxembourg; and
  • your employees take a training course leading to the Vocational Capacity Certificate (CCP) 'Assistant for Daily Support' (assistant d’accompagnement au quotidien) and/or the Vocational Aptitude Diploma (DAP) 'Nursing auxiliary / Healthcare assistant' (aide-soignant).

Prerequisites

 To qualify for this compensation, you must:

  • be a signatory to a professional practice agreement (convention de pratique professionnelle);
  • have a valid employment contract with an employee undergoing vocational training for the school year in question;
  • provide proof of the employee's affiliation with the Joint Social Security Centre.

To qualify for compensation, the maximum duration of training courses is set at:

  • 8 hours per week to obtain a CCP 'Assistant for Daily Support';
  • 16 hours per week to obtain a DAP 'Nursing auxiliary / Healthcare assistant'.

Deadlines

 You can submit a claim for compensation:

  • either on a monthly basis, no later than the last day of the month following the month in which the training took place; or
  • annually, no later than 31 October of the school year following the school year in which the training took place.
