To avoid having to wait, you can book an appointment online via MyGuichet.lu:

  • with the Guichet.lu reception desk located at rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City, for an on-site appointment;
  • with the Guichet.lu Helpdesk for an appointment by video call .

This online assistant does not require an authentication device.

Who is concerned

Anyone who wants:

  • to apply for or collect their identity card or driving licence at the Guichet.lu reception desk;
  • to obtain information about the procedures and services offered by Luxembourg's public authorities and bodies.

Prerequisites

If you wish to make an appointment at the Guichet.lu reception desk to apply for a driving licence or identity card, please first consult the application procedures for the document in question. This way, you ensure that:

  • the requirements of your application have been met; and
  • you have all the supporting documents you need for your appointment.

Costs

Booking an appointment online is free of charge.

Please note: applications for an identity card or a driving licence are however subject to a fee.

How to proceed

Booking the appointment

You can book an appointment with the Guichet.lu reception desk, located at rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City, via MyGuichet.lu. This online assistant does not require an authentication device.

Choose the reason for your appointment:

  • application for or retrieval of your:
    • identity card;
    • driving licence;
  • request for information (administrative questions, purchase of a card reader for the Luxembourg identity card, change of bank account at the CGPO, etc.).

On-site appointments are available on working days from 8.00 to 17.00. During the same opening hours, you can also visit the Guichet.lu reception desk without having booked an appointment in advance.

Using the same procedure on MyGuichet.lu, you can also make an appointment for an online video call with the Guichet.lu Helpdesk. To do so, select 'Question for the Guichet.lu Helpdesk'.

To take part in a video call, you don't need to install any additional software. All you need is a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) or a computer equipped with:

  • a camera; and
  • audio input and output equipment (microphone, speakers, headphones, etc.).

In the appointment confirmation, you will receive a link that will allow you to join the video call from the browser on your computer or mobile device.

Appointments for video calls are available on working days from 8.30 to 17.30. You can also contact the Guichet.lu Helpdesk:

  • by telephone (+352) 247 82 000, working days from 8.00 to 18.00;
  • using the contact form.  

Confirmation of appointment

When your request for an appointment is accepted, you will receive an appointment confirmation by email in PDF format.

If you have made an appointment for a video call, you will find the link to join the video call in this email as well as in the appointment confirmation.

You can join the video call up to 15 minutes before the appointment time. Please wait until the Helpdesk agent is also connected.

Cancellation of the appointment

You can cancel your appointment (on site or by video call) online via the link in:

  • the confirmation email;
  • the appointment confirmation.

At present, you can contact the Guichet.lu reception desk on rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City for any questions you may have about the procedures and services offered by Luxembourg's public authorities and bodies.
