Summary:

You must give prior notification to the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (Administration luxembourgeoise vétérinaire et alimentaire - ALVA) of the following activities:

  • a circus with animals;
  • an animal show;
  • an animal market.

Animal markets and shows, and circuses that stage shows with animals, must be notified to the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration before they take place.

  • Any person who organises an animal market or show
  • Any circus that stages shows with animals

Deadlines

You must send the notification to the competent authority at least 15 days before the activity is scheduled to start.

How to proceed

Filing the notification

You must send the notification online through MyGuichet.lu, with or without authentication, using:

In the notification you must provide:

  • a list of the animals that will be used in the activity;
  • specific information about the site where the activity is to take place;
  • the planned dates and times;
  • the full contact information of the activity organiser.

In submitting the notification, you will be held liable for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided.
