SME Packages: new packages and new aid amounts

Last update

Two new SME Packages relating to artificial intelligence and cybersecurity have been introduced as a support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs):

  • SME Packages – AI enables SMEs to:
    • receive support in their first steps towards artificial intelligence; and
    • receive simple and easy-to-implement solutions to integrate AI into their processes;
  • SME Packages - Cybersecurity:
    • facilitates the implementation of cybersecurity technologies and procedures; and
    • strengthens the protection of SMEs against attacks.

These new aid measures are in addition to the existing SME Packages, which already include 3 packages:

  • SME Packages – Sustainability: supports SMEs in their transition to sustainability and the reduction of environmental impact (energy, water, waste and carbon footprint);
  • SME Packages - Service: enables the improvement of the customer experience in order to build customer loyalty (atmosphere, customer relations and products);
  • SME Packages - Digital: enables the implementation of a digital tool for better online communication with customers and better business management (digital marketing, management and electronic invoicing).

In addition, the amount of aid and the eligible costs have been increased. As of now, the financial aid granted under the 5 packages may cover up to 70% of the eligible costs, which range from EUR 3,000 to EUR 25,000 excluding VAT.

To be eligible for this aid, the company must:

  • have a business permit;
  • meet the conditions for SMEs in terms of staff, annual turnover and annual balance sheet;
  • have its registered office in Luxembourg.

Interested companies must first contact the House of Entrepreneurship of the Chamber of Commerce or the eHandwierk department of the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts (for craft companies) for a pre-analysis.
