Upon application and in certain conditions, the National Solidarity Fund (FNS) can grant various financial benefits to people in difficulty.

The descriptions and methods of obtaining these benefits available on Guichet.lu have been updated together with the FNS:

• advance on and recovering maintenance payments

Maintenance is a financial contribution paid to any person whose subsistence is to be ensured, as provided for in the Civil Code.

• cost-of-living benefit

Households with modest incomes (which do not exceed the allocation limits set by Grand Ducal regulation) are eligible for the cost-of-living benefit which is set according to the composition of the applicant's household.

• social inclusion income (REVIS)

The social inclusion income (REVIS) is intended to support households with modest incomes and to provide them with a basic livelihood. The REVIS is composed of the inclusion benefit (financial support to ensure basic subsistence) and the activation benefit (allowance for people taking part in a "community service" activation plan).

• gerontology admission

The gerontology admission supplement is intended for dependent persons (elderly or young) admitted indefinitely to integrated centres (CIPA), nursing homes or duly approved supported housing schemes, whose personal resources are insufficient to cover accommodation costs and personal needs.

• "Mammerent" pension

The "Mammerent" pension (child-raising pension) is intended for parents, or any other persons acting in loco parentis (in lieu and place of the parents), who have, in the main, devoted themselves to bringing up one or more children. Entitlement to the child-raising pension is acquired at the age of 65.
