National Solidarity Fund (FNS)
The National Solidarity Fund (Fonds national de solidarité - FNS) is a public institution whose main mission is to help people in financial difficulty in providing them with sufficient income. Therefore, the National Solidarity Fund is responsible for granting following benefits:
- social inclusion income (REVIS);
- allowance for people with severe disabilities (RPGH);
- cost-of-living benefit and the energy allowance;
- advance on and recovery of maintenance payments;
- financial assistance to pay for gerontology services;
- child-raising pension (Mammerent);
- special allowance for severely disabled people (repealed on 1 January 1999).
