Participating in the Adult Education Survey 2022
Last update
The Adult Education Survey (AEM) is concluded and was carried out from September to December 2022. It was addressed to a sample of 8,000 residents between 18 and 69 years of age. STATEC would like to thank all the participants in the survey for their contribution.
A survey on the education of adults (Adult Education Survey - AES) 2022 is organised by the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques - STATEC) from 26 September 2022. STATEC is a state administration under the authority of the Ministry of Economy, which enjoys scientific and professional independence. Its mission is to collect, analyse and disseminate data on Luxembourg's economy and society in a neutral manner.
The aim of the AES is to collect data on the education and training activities in which adults have participated in the last 12 months. The survey allows the study of the population's lifelong learning activities and the measurement of their progress.
This is a European survey conducted every 6 years in all member States of the European Union. It provides comparable data for all countries.
Who is concerned?
The Adult Education Survey (AES) is a survey by questionnaire covering the population living in private households in Luxembourg aged between 18 and 69.
Participants are randomly selected from the National Registry of Natural Persons.
The selected persons are required to take part in the survey.
Prerequisites
In order to respond to the AES, the selected person must first have received an invitation by post.
The person who received the invitation letter is the person who must respond to the questionnaire.
Deadlines
The survey is conducted between September 2022 and February 2023.
The deadline for the submission is mentioned in the invitation letter.
How to proceed
Responding to the questionnaire
In the letter received, the person is invited to participate in the survey via the procedure available under the section 'Forms / Online services' (see below).
The questionnaire is available in Luxembourgish, French, German and English. The choice of language is made directly in the 'Forms / Online services' section. Just click on one of the "LU", "FR", "DE" or "EN" tabs to start the questionnaire in your preferred language.
There are 2 ways to complete the questionnaire:
- using the authenticated mode of MyGuichet.lu by means of an identification with a LuxTrust product. This is the preferred mode of response, as it allows you to stop entering responses to the questionnaire at any time and resume later. Additionally, answers that have already been entered are saved;
- without using the authenticated mode of MyGuichet.lu. Please note: in this case, the input of the answers to the questionnaire must be done without interruption, because answers already entered are not saved.
Obligation to participate
Participation in the survey is mandatory for the selected persons. It is a legal requirement (Article 13 of the law of 10 July 2011 on the organisation of the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies).
Statistical confidentiality
The answers provided are covered by the statistical confidentiality guaranteed by Article 16 of the aforementioned law.
