Registration for the collection and transportation of waste
Last update
Waste production has a more or less harmful impact on the environment, depending on the type and quantity of waste produced.
Businesses that collect or transport specific types of waste may be required to register with the Environment Agency.
Who is concerned
Establishments or businesses must register if:
- they import waste into Luxembourg;
- they collect and transport inert waste from roadworks, excavation works and demolition works;
- they collect or transport waste in the form of:
- natural non-hazardous materials from agricultural or sylvicultural (forestry) operations;
- dung or slurry;
- sewage sludge, green waste or biodegradable garden and park waste (including agricultural and forestry operations);
- they collect and transport waste produced by their own activities;
- they supply products and then take back from their customers these same products once they have become waste, with the aim of consolidating and recovering them or disposing of them in an appropriate manner.
How to proceed
Registration procedure
The business must submit an application for registration (transport) online on the Environment Portal (Portail de l’Environnement).
No permit or specific authorisation in any form will be issued for this procedure.
The Environment Agency will send a simple proof of registration to the business.
Additional procedure
Depending on the type of waste transported, the business is subject to a notification of waste transport procedure.
