Generating a CovidCheck Certificate on MyGuichet.lu following a negative rapid antigen test (COVID-19 rapid test declaration)

Last update

Physicians, pharmacists and certain other health professionals can issue certificates to their patients in the case of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test.

These certificates are EU Digital COVID Certificates (EU DCC) – referred to as "CovidCheck Certificates" in Luxembourg – which:

  • are valid from 1 July 2021 at the latest:
    • in all of the European Union (EU);
    • in Iceland;
    • in Liechtenstein;
    • in Norway;
    • in Switzerland;
  • contain a secure QR code that can be read by the applications in the different participating countries in order to check that the certificate is genuine.

Health professionals can generate the CovidCheck Certificate in MyGuichet.lu following a negative rapid antigen test of a patient. This is a procedure requiring authentification.

It is reminded that the CovidCheck Certificate constitutes proof in digital or paper format that a person:

  • has been vaccinated against COVID-19; or
  • has received a negative COVID-19 test result; or
  • has recovered from COVID-19.

The validity of the CovidCheck Certificate depends on each case (vaccination, test or recovery).

Who is concerned?

The following health professionals authorised to practice their profession in Luxembourg are concerned:

  • physicians;
  • pharmacists;
  • nursing auxiliaries / healthcare assistants;
  • nurses, nurse anaesthetists, paediatric nurses, psychiatric nurses;
  • midwives.
  • laboratory workers;
  • physiotherapists and osteopaths.

A check will be carried out with the information listed in the register of health professions.

Prerequisites

The result of the rapid antigen test must be negative in order to generate a CovidCheck Certificate.

Costs

Generating a CovidCheck Certificate following a negative rapid antigen test is free of charge for the health professional.

Furthermore, this certificate may not be charged more to the patient than a certificate in any other form.

How to proceed

Filing an application

Health professionals can generate a digital version of the CovidCheck Certificate after a rapid antigen test online using the form available in their business eSpace on MyGuichet.lu.

The health professional submitting the application will need:

  • a LuxTrust product; or
  • an electronic identity card (eID).

How to create a business eSpace on MyGuichet.lu

There are 2 possible scenarios:

  1. The person submitting the application is a new user of MyGuichet.lu. They must:
    • first register on MyGuichet.lu; and
    • then create a business eSpace.
  2. The person submitting the application already has a private eSpace on MyGuichet.lu. They can directly create a business eSpace without having to register again.

Further information as well as tutorials in relation with the business eSpace are available in our dedicated help page.

When applying online, the health professional must indicate the following data in particular:

  • the national identification number (13-digit number) of the patient tested;

Please note that if the identification number is not entered during the online procedure, the CovidCheck Certificate will not be available in digital form in the patient's private eSpace on MyGuichet.lu.

  • the patient's first and last name(s) as they appear on their identity card as well as their date of birth;

The health professional must then indicate:

  • the test result: positive or negative. If the result is positive, the procedure cannot be completed;
  • the disease tested for, i.e. COVID-19;
  • the type and name of the test;
  • the date, time and place of the test.

It is important to validate the online application by clicking on "Send".

The health professional:

  • will receive a confirmation by email of the request for the certificate after transmission of the request;
  • thus generates the CovidCheck Certificate after a negative rapid antigen test in digital format that becomes available under the "Messages" tab of the procedure;
  • prints the CovidCheck Certificate and hands it to the patient on paper.

The CovidCheck Certificate generated can be downloaded and/or consulted online by the patient in their private eSpace on MyGuichet.lu, provided that their national identification number (13-digit number) was entered by the health professional during the procedure.

This procedure is reserved for health professionals duly authorised to practice their profession. In the event that the data entered is not recognised although the declarant has the authority to issue CovidCheck Certificates, said declarant should send an email to the Health Directorate at the following address: professions.medicales@ms.etat.lu.
