A new article has been published in the 'Life events' section of Guichet.lu on hunting and owning a firearm.

This article covers:

• the main administrative procedures to carry out;
• the necessary authorisations; and
• the current legal requirements for the applicants concerned.

To hunt, you must hold an annual hunting licence, valid from 1 April to 31 March. Applications can be made online via MyGuichet.lu.

To own and use a firearm, you must have a firearms licence, issued by the Ministry of Justice, irrespective of whether you:

• are a hunter;
• are a competitive marksman;
• are a collector; or
• have inherited a firearm.
