You can get help if you have a disability or are dependent

Last update

Obtain an allowance for the severely disabled.

If you live in Luxembourg and have a significant disability that prevents you from working, you can claim the allowance for severely disabled persons (revenu pour personnes gravement handicapées - RPGH) under certain conditions. This income is intended to provide financial support for people whose physical or mental health prevents them from working. The gross amount of the RPGH corresponds to the amount of the social inclusion income (REVIS).

Benefit from long-term care insurance

Did you know that long-term care insurance can cover some of the costs of your daily help and care, regardless of your income? It applies to the essentials of life, home maintenance activities, home adaptations, etc.

All persons affiliated to the health insurance scheme and their co-affiliates are concerned. After an assessment of your level of dependency by a specialist, you will be given the help and care you need to make your daily life easier.

Apply for aid to receive special adaptations to your home

As a disabled or dependent person, you can, under certain conditions, apply for aid to adapt your home to your specific needs, with the aim of increasing your independence and facilitating your daily activities. This aid supplements work not covered by the long-term care insurance.

Everything you need to know about accessibility requirements for public spaces

Did you know that all buildings open to the public or in the public domain must comply with legal accessibility standards? New constructions and existing buildings are covered by this requirement. If you are concerned about bringing one of these places open to the public into compliance, you can apply for reasonable accommodation.
