Hiring skilled workers: new list of occupations in high shortage

Last update

In order to facilitate the recruitment of third-country nationals for occupations in high shortage, employers can benefit from a simplified and accelerated procedure.

To access the procedure, the position must correspond to one of the occupations listed in the list of occupations in high shortage, a new version of which has just been published in the Official Journal.

As a reminder, before hiring a third-country national, you must obtain a certificate issued by ADEM authorising you to recruit the person of your choice.

For occupations in high shortage, this certificate is issued by ADEM within 5 working days, compared with 7 days for other occupations.

The professions concerned include, in particular: early childhood educator, accountant, network architect, bank client manager or industrial maintenance mechanic.
