How to proceed
Applying for the Adapto card
In order to receive Adapto services, users must apply by post to the Department of Transport (Département des transports). A medical certificate whose validity is 3 months from its issue date must be included.
The application form is available:
- at adapto.lu;
- by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org);
- from the Department of Transport, Public Transport Division;
- from Info Handicap;
- from approved transport operators.
If the application is accepted, applicants will receive a travel card allowing them to use Adapto transport services.
The Adapto transport services can be booked on an individual basis from a transport operator approved by the Department of Transport. The user should book these services well enough in advance (at least 1 working day).
Note that Adapto services are intended for occasional trips. A limit is set at 15 bookings per month.
Users must get a ticket from the driver at the beginning of the journey. If necessary, drivers can assist passengers with getting in or out of the vehicle. Users can also seek additional help and be accompanied by a person who will pay the same rate.
E.g.: a medical certificate may stipulate that the client has to be assisted by another client.
Transport services are available throughout Luxembourg 7 days a week, from 07.00 to 22.00. On Fridays and Saturdays, they operate until midnight.
On 24 December, the transport services cease to operate at 20.00.
