Adapto is an occasional passenger transport service. It is designed for persons with reduced mobility or those suffering from a disability or irreversible impairment that is such that they cannot move independently, either by their own means or by public transport.
It supplements the public transport system by providing transport via specially equipped minibuses.
Who is concerned
Any person residing in Luxembourg:
- with an irreversible disability; or
- with a physical, mental, sensory or psychological impairment; or
- with severely reduced mobility; or
- with a progressive disease.
The service is intended for occasional trips.
Prerequisites
Being permanently unable to travel by other means of transport, whether public or private.
Costs
Since 1 March 2020, all journeys with the Adapto service will be free of charge.
How to proceed
Filing an application
To use the Adapto services, the applicant must:
- complete, date and sign an Adapto card application using a form available online;
- see a physician to have them complete, date and sign the medical certificate attached to the form.
The medical certificate must be recent and no older than 3 months.
The duly completed form must then be sent to:

Please note!
Anyone wishing to use the Adapto service after 2 March 2020 must re-apply. The old cards are no longer valid since this date.
Beneficiaries of the Adapto services before 1 March 2020 can submit a new application using the new application form in order to receive a new provisional Adapto card valid until 31 December 2020. Those who fully meet all access requirements to Adapto services will receive a permanent Adapto card.
Applications submitted on the new form by persons who still have the old Adapto card and whose applications have been refused, will be reassessed.

Access card
If the application is accepted, the applicant receives an access card. This card entitles its holder to use the Adapto service.
Booking a trip
Users must book their trips in advance using a single platform which can be reached:
- by calling the "Mobilitéitszentral" booking centre on 2465-2465;
- online at www.adapto.lu;
- by using the mobile application, for holders of a new card.
The user should book these services sufficiently in advance (at least 1 working day).
Please note that Adapto services are intended for occasional trips. A limit is set at 360 trips per year.
Note that in certain cases, clients are not authorised to travel on their own. They must be accompanied by a person of their choice throughout the journey.
Journeys
The Adapto service is only available for journeys within Luxembourg.
Schedule
Transports are carried out 7 days a week, including public holidays, between 7.00 and 22.00. On Fridays and Saturdays, they operate until midnight.
On 24 December, the transport services cease to operate at 20.00.
