Social Security Arbitration Tribunal (CASS)

The Social Security Arbitration Tribunal (Conseil arbitral de la sécurité sociale - CASS) is the first instance juridiction.

It is competent in matters of social security disputes between the insured person and the social security bodies, namely with regard to affiliation, social security liability, contributions, administrative fines or benefits.

It is the first and last court for disputes with a value of up to EUR 1,250 and is the appeal court if the dispute exceeds said amount. The final decisions by the Social Security Arbitration Tribunal can be contested by an appeal in cassation.
