Passport, Visa and Legalisation Office (BPVL)

The Passport, Visa and Legalisation Office (Bureau des passeports, visas et légalisations - BPVL), placed under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade is competent for:

  • issuing Luxembourg passports and travel documents for refugees, stateless persons and foreigners;
  • issuing short-term visas to nationals from countries subject to visa obligations;
  • certifying signatures from Luxembourg public authorities on documents destined to public authorities from foreign countries.
