Main office of the National Employment Agency (ADEM) in Hamm

The National Employment Agency (Agence pour le développement de l'emploi - ADEM) is the contact point for salaried workers. ADEM is placed under the authority of the Ministry of Labour, has its main office in Luxembourg city and several regional agencies (Diekirch, Esch-sur-Alzette, Differdange, Dudelange, Wiltz and Wasserbillig).

ADEM's role, in particular, is to register the unemployed as jobseekers, to establish their entitlement to benefits, to pay them their allowances and to help them draw benefit from the measures that it puts in place to encourage their return to the job market. For personalised support, job seekers can use the website of the National Employment Agency to determine their competent agency based on their place of residence.

ADEM also organises guidance counselling for young adults under the age of 30, and provides training, rehabilitation and occupational integration for the disabled.

ADEM agencies are open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00.

The National Employment Agency can also be reached by phone at one of the 2 phone numbers of their Contact Centre, from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00:

  • for job seekers: (+352) 247 88 888;
