National Employment Agency (ADEM)

The National Employment Agency (Agence pour le développement de l'emploi - ADEM) is the contact point for employees. ADEM, which is under the authority of the Ministry of Labour, has its main office in Luxembourg City and regional offices in Diekirch, Esch-sur-Alzette, Differdange, Dudelange, Wiltz and Wasserbillig.

ADEM's role, in particular, is to register the unemployed as jobseekers, to establish their entitlement to benefits, to pay them their allowances and to help them draw benefit from the measures that it puts in place to encourage their return to the job market. Jobseekers wanting personalised support can check the ADEM website for their local agency.

ADEM also organises guidance counselling for young adults under the age of 30, and provides training, rehabilitation and occupational integration for the disabled.

ADEM offices are open from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00.

The National Employment Agency can also be reached by phone at one of the 2 phone numbers of their Contact Center, from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00:

  • for job seekers: (+352) 247 88 888;
