Anyone under 14 may fish without a licence under the supervision of a person who holds a valid fishing licence.

How to proceed

Categories of licences

There are 2 categories of licences.

The category A licence (Moselle, Sûre and Our) authorises the holder to fish from a bank using a handline.

The category B licence (Moselle and Sûre) authorises the holder to fish from a boat, or from a fixed or floating vessel serving the same function, using a handline. Category B licences include the rights granted by category A licences.

A special fishing licence is required to fish at the edge of the Vianden Reservoir. Annual licences are issued by the Société Electrique de l’Our (SEO), 2 Rue Pierre d’Aspelt, L-1142 Luxembourg. From 1 April to 30 November, a two-week tourists’ licence is issued by the Syndicat d’Initiative de Vianden, Maison Victor Hugo.
