Visiting Luxembourg as an EU citizen
This is a test page
Last update
Each citizen of the European Union (EU) can freely move within the EU, and thus has the right to visit any EU country for a short stay (up to 90 days).
Who is concerned
'EU citizens' are nationals of an EU Member State.
Nationals of the other contracting parties to the European Economic Area Agreement (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and the Swiss Confederation are treated as EU citizens.
It should be noted that family members of a Luxembourg national are treated as family members of an EU citizen.
How to proceed
Citizens of the EU or of a country treated as such and who wish to come to Luxembourg for a stay of up to 90 days do not need to carry out any formalities.
They simply have to hold a valid national identity card or passport.
