Information about the pension reform planned for 2026

A reform of the pension system is currently underway in Luxembourg. The conditions for granting pensions from 1 July 2026 may be subject to adjustments.

Consequently, the CNAP is currently unable to provide definitive answers regarding:

  • requests for estimates; and
  • applications for early retirement pensions from the age of 60.

But rest assured, the CNAP will process your application and reconstruct your insurance career as usual. However, you will only receive a final response to your request after the new legal provisions come into force.

There is no need to contact the CNAP: you will be notified as soon as your application has been finalised.

The reform does not concern:

  • pensions already being paid;
  • old-age pension from the age of 65;
  • early retirement pensions from the age of 57.
