Damage caused by certain protected species
Last update
Have you been affected by damage caused by beavers, badgers or corvids? You can claim compensation from the Nature and Forest Agency (ANF) if you are:
- a farmer; or
- a landowner who has suffered damage caused by a beaver to their forest, fruit trees or trees that are part of an agroforestry system.
On your application, you must:
- specify the nature of the damage; and
- provide an estimate of the surface area or number of trees damaged and a financial assessment of the damage.
Once your claim has been received, an ANF agent will visit the scene of the damage to identify the animal responsible.
To find out about the deadlines for submitting your claim, as well as the conditions and amount of compensation, see our dedicated information page.
