Carry out radon measurements in the workplace
Last update
As the head of establishment, you are responsible for the radiation protection of workers who may be exposed to ionising radiation in your establishment. Furthermore, if you are self-employed, you are responsible for your own monitoring.
Thus, depending on the geographical location and type of workplace (underground workplace, specific buildings, etc.), you must carry out a radon measurement.
To measure radon, you must:
- submit an application for an exposimeter to the Radiation Protection Division; and
- pay the sum of EUR 50 for each exposimeter ordered.
The measurement must take place between 1 October and 30 April of the following year for a period of at least 2 months.
Following this, you must return the completed information sheets, together with the exposimeters, to the Radiation Protection Division.
You can find the order form and all the details on radon measurement in our explanatory information page.
