Tax exemption for Belgian residents with company cars

Last update

This page is currently being updated.

In principle, individuals who reside in Belgium register vehicles they wish to drive with the vehicle register, even if they are already registered in Luxembourg.

However, such registration is not compulsory for vehicles already registered in Luxembourg that natural persons use in the exercise of their profession, and incidentally as private individuals, and are made available to such persons by an employer located in the Grand Duchy under an employment contract.

In order to prove that this is the case, Belgian residents must be able to show their Luxembourgish employment contract in the event of a check by the Belgian authorities.
