Appointment booking

As part of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Luxembourg government is organising a vaccination campaign for the 3rd dose of the vaccine to combat the spread of the virus.

Reminder: in order for the fight against COVID-19 to be effective, it is important to respect the barrier gestures, even for those who have been vaccinated.

Who is concerned

The vaccination concerns residents who:

  • are at home, and at least 75 years old; or
  • on dialysis.

Appointments can only be made if the invitation letter with the code has been received.

Note: persons who live in a facility for the elderly will be vaccinated by the mobile vaccination teams of the National Health Directorate, regardless of their age.

To be able to receive the 3rd dose, the person concerned must have a completed vaccination schedule, i.e.:

  • either 2 doses of a messenger RNA vaccine (Moderna or BioNTech/Pfizer);
  • or 2 doses of the Vaxzevria vaccine (AstraZeneca);
  • or 1 dose of the Janssen vaccine (Johnson & Johnson);
  • or a " Mix and Match " vaccination (use of 2 different vaccines between the 1st and 2nd dose).

The 3rd dose of a messenger RNA vaccine will be administered earliest:

  • 6 months after a 2-dose vaccine; or
  • 2 months after vaccination with the Janssen vaccine.

When choosing an appointment date, the person concerned must ensure that they have not received any other vaccinations (e.g. tetanus, flu) in the previous 2 weeks. If so, they should check with their general practitioner before making an appointment.

Please note that any person who fulfils the criteria (6 months after the 2 nd dose or after the 1 st dose, if tested positive, or 2 months after vaccination with the Janssen vaccine) can also make an appointment for the vaccination with their general practitioner. To find out which doctor's surgeries are offering vaccination against COVID-19, you can consult the list of doctor's surgeries taking part in the vaccination campaign on the Government's portal on the coronavirus (

The vaccination is free of charge.
