National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC)
The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques - STATEC), is responsible for the collection and structuring of data from various sectors such as the production of goods and services, social cohesion, employment and unemployment, prices and wages, innovation and business start-ups.
STATEC is also a research department dedicated to the statistical analysis of data gathered in order to make microeconomic and macroeconomic forecasts.
Its objective is twofold: firstly, to collect data and, secondly, to study, analyse and synthetise the data in order to understand economic and social phenomena.
