Connecting using your eID and a Gemalto card reader

To connect to MyGuichet.lu using a Luxembourg electronic identity card (eID) and a Gemalto card reader, you must:

Please note: not all Gemalto card readers are compatible with the Luxembourg electronic identity card. More detailed information on acquiring and using a compatible card reader is available on the website of the Government IT Centre (CTIE).

You will also find information on the activation of electronic certificates.

If you do not have a compatible card reader, you can use the GouvID mobile application to connect to MyGuichet.lu using your eID. The application can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Step 1 – Register on MyGuichet.lu using your eID and a Gemalto card reader
Attention

Please note: to use a Gemalto card reader, you must first download and install the LuxTrust middleware before starting the registration process.

When you use your eID for the first time with a Gemalto card reader to log on to MyGuichet.lu, your eID must first be registered as the product used to log on. To do so:

  1. go to MyGuichet.lu; and
  2. click on "Log on to MyGuichet.lu".

Once connected to the Luxembourg government's authentication portal (eAccess), fill in the following information:

  1. your surname and first name;
  2. your email address;
  3. your 13-digit Luxembourg national identification number (matricule).

Then click on the "Register" button".

Step 2 – Confirm your registration

An automatic email (from the email address usermanagement@security.public.lu) is sent to the address you provided.

This email contains a registration confirmation link that is valid for 72 hours.

After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to the page "Last step to register in the application". To finalise your registration:

  1. accept the general terms and conditions; and
  2. click on the "Register" button.

The registration of your Luxembourg electronic identity card (eID) for MyGuichet.lu is now complete.

You will also receive a letter by post confirming your registration with a government Internet application.

Step 3 – Connecting using your eID and a Gemalto card reader

To connect to MyGuichet.lu with your previously registered eID:

  1. go to MyGuichet.lu; and
  2. click on "Log on to MyGuichet.lu"; and
  3. select the "Connection using a LuxTrust product or eID card" authentication mode"; and
  4. select the device "Luxembourg eID".

After logging in, you can create your private or business eSpace.
