Social Security Medical Board

The Social Security Medical Board (Contrôle médical de la sécurité sociale - CMSS) is an administration under the authority of the Social security administration. Its main objectives are:

  • the assessment of incapacities for work and, if applicable, the setting of the provisional or final degree of incapacity with regard to the normal capacity for work;
  • the periodical check and control of illnesses or disabilities which give rise to benefits or allowances;
  • medical opinions and checks in relation to the loss of salary in terms of accident insurance, to redeployment procedures or to vocational retraining measures.
