In addition to its role as an IT service provider for the whole of the State apparatus, the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'Etat – CTIE) is responsible for the production and customisation of secure administrative documents and any related biometric data processing (for example, electronic passports).
It also handles specific tasks such as the management of guichet.lu and the coordination of the Government of Luxembourg's online presence.
The CTIE is also the authority tasked with verification of online collection systems for organisers of European citizens' initiatives in Luxembourg. In addition, the CTIE is responsible for certifying the number of valid declarations of support collected within the Grand Duchy.
