Vocational training is an opportunity to acquire or deepen job related skills, whether in the profession practised until now or in a completely different sector.
The employment fund can co-finance the participation in such a training.
The application for vocational training is made online via MyGuichet.luwithout authentication, i.e. without the need for a LuxTrust product or an electronic identity card (eID). Applicants must, however, have an access code which will have been provided by ADEM in advance.
Who is concerned
Jobseekers who are registered with ADEM, whether on benefit or not, and who wish to follow a vocational training course may, under certain conditions, receive vocational training support.
Note: in some cases, jobseekers must not be on benefit.
This support is in the form of a partial reimbursement of training costs.
Preliminary steps
How to obtain an access code
Jobseekers who wish to apply for vocational training support must talk to their ADEM counsellor during one of their follow-up appointments. This request must be made at least 8 weeks before the start of the training.
If the ADEM counsellor gives a favourable opinion, jobseekers receive an access code that allows them to access the online application for vocational training on MyGuichet.lu.
The access code is
strictly personal and must not be passed on to others.
Deadlines
The access code is valid for 2 months. The online application must therefore be made before the code expires
Costs
Vocational training support is in the form of a partial reimbursement of training costs. This presupposes that jobseekers have to pre-finance the total cost of the training.
How to proceed
Filing an application through MyGuichet.lu
Jobseekers submit the application for vocational training via the form provided for this purpose on MyGuichet.lu (see the "Forms / Online services" section).
The online application is done without authentication, i.e. it does not require a LuxTrust product or an electronic identity card (eID). Jobseekers must, however, have an access code which will have been provided by ADEM in advance.
When applying online, applicants must provide, in particular:
the access code they received from their ADEM counsellor;
their 13-digit Luxembourg national identification number;
their surnames and first names;
their email address;
the name and address of the training institution;
detailed information on the training course they wish to follow.
Supporting documents
Applicants must provide the following documents:
a letter explaining their motivation for choosing the training;
a detailed estimate of the training costs, including the following information:
the total cost;
the duration;
the start and end dates of the training;
the detailed training programme.
Depending on the application, applicants may have to attach additional documents such as a document from the driving school, if the training is related to the driving licence.
Applicants must ensure that they have all the
required documents in electronic form (PDF file or image) at the time of the online application so that they can attach them directly.
Once the required documents have been added, the jobseeker can submit the application on MyGuichet.lu. They then receive an automatic confirmation of deliveryby email.
The Administration's response
After submission of the online application via MyGuichet.lu, the applicant is informed of the acceptance or rejection of their application.
If the application is accepted, jobseekers must register for the desired training course themselves after receiving formal approval from ADEM.
Partial reimbursement of training costs
Jobseekers may apply to ADEM for partial reimbursement of training costs:
at the end of the vocational training;and
in the event of approval of the application for vocational training support.
This reimbursement represents 75% of the costs of the vocational training, capped at the monthly social minimum wage for unskilled workers.
The remaining 25% can be reimbursed if jobseekers successfully integrate into the labour market by presenting, no later than 3 months after the end of the vocational training, a regular open-ended or fixed-term employment contract of at least 18 months.
Unless a decision is taken by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy to extend the duration of the reimbursement, it may not exceed 12 months.
