Management of waste from COVID-19 antigen tests

The Environment Agency recommends 2 different methods of disposal of the COVID-19 rapid antigen tests.

In case of a negative test result, the test should be disposed of in the grey bin with the household waste.

In case of a positive test result, the test should be put back into their original packaging (or into to the bag that may have been supplied with the test); and then it should all be put into to a separate, sealed bag.

The bag and its contents can then also disposed of in the grey household waste bin.
