Registration with an occupational health service

As an employer, you are required to:

  • register with an occupational health service; or
  • put in place your own internal occupational health service. This is a mandatory requirement if your business employs:
    • between 3,000 and 5,000 staff, of which at least 100 carry out hazardous jobs; or
    • more than 5,000 staff.

The occupational health service aims to advise and assist you in all the procedures related to health, ergonomics, hygiene and safety at work.

The contributions to be paid to the occupational health service will be directly deducted by the Joint Social Security Centre upon payment of the social contributions. The amount of the contributions depend on the occupational health service chosen.
