How to tender your resignation at the end of your parental leave?

Your parental leave is coming to an end and you do not want to return to work?

Be reminded that you are required to inform your employer, within the legal deadlines, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

The notice period depends on your length of service with your employer and varies between 1 and 3 months.

Please note, your notice period begins:

  • on the 15th day of the month, if your notification of resignation is sent before the 15th of the month;
  • on the 1st day of the following month, if your notification of resignation is sent after the 14th of the month.

Remember that in case of failure to inform your employer by registered letter if you do not return to work, you run the risk of being dismissed with immediate effect for serious misconduct.
